(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man was shot on Christmas morning in an attempted robbery on Chicago's Northwest Side.
It happened at about 7:20 a.m., Chicago police officials said. The man was outside in the Hermosa neighborhood, near Armitage and Kildare Avenues, when two armed males got out of a gray car and demanded his belongings.
It was not clear if he refused to comply, but police said the would-be robbers shot at the man and struck him in the thigh.
They took off without any loot, and the man was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound.
No one is in custody. Area Five detectives are investigating.
