CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are looking for a man who allegedly threatened to kidnap two teenage girls on the North Side last week.
Area Three Detective said the man approached two girls, ages 14 and 15, in Rogers Park, on Clark near Columbia, at about 4:15 p.m. last Monday, February 27. He subsequently tried to lure them by speaking Spanish.
“You look sexy. I want to hire you. You should come work for me,” the man allegedly said.
One of the girls then responded, allegedly telling him she and her friend were 15 and 14-years-old respectively.
After hearing that, the suspect allegedly told them, “Next time I see you, I’m going to take you.”
Despite the suspect trying to block the girls’ walking path, they were able to run away from him, police said.
Detectives described the suspect as Hispanic and in his 40s or 50s, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a white t-shirt underneath and gray sweatpants. Police said he was about 5 or 5’1’’ tall and roughly 120 to 150 pounds. The man also apparently had a red bump on his lip, crooked teeth and a high pitched voice. He was seen pushing a shopping cart, police noted.
