CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago's interim police chief said CPD made a mistake during last month's sox game where two were wounded by bullets.
The two women were near section 161 of Guaranteed Rate Field when they were struck by bullets.
Interim police Superintendent Fred Waller tells the Chicago Sun-Times the game was allowed to continue due to a "miscommunication" on the protocol for notifying Major League Baseball, but he said the game should have been stopped or delayed.
"If I'm gonna point a finger, I'm gonna point that finger right back at myself," Waller told the Sun-Times. "I'm over the police department at this time as interim superintendent."
Waller said police are still trying to figure out where the bullets came from, but will likely never be completely sure.
Police still don't have a suspect, and no arrests have been made.
