A 19-year-old man is expected to appear before a judge Wednesday, charged with murdering a pregnant woman and starting a fire Monday evening at a southwest suburban Downers Grove home.

Nedas Revuckas, of Westmont, was charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, aggravated arson, intentional homicide of an unborn child and animal cruelty, Downers Grove police said.

About 6:10 p.m. Monday, police and fire officials responded to a structure fire in an apartment in the 2300 block of Ogden Avenue and found 30-year-old Eliza Morales, who had suffered sharp force trauma, inside, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, authorities said.

Revuckas is expected to appear in court for a detention hearing Wednesday in DuPage County.
