Museum of Science and Industry introduces new president

New MSI director
Chevy Humphrey
Arizona Science Center

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Museum of Science and Industry has hired a new president — the museum's first Black president and first woman to lead the institution.

Chevy Humphrey says the circumstances are "very humbling."

"It gives you the opportunity and the platform to tell any kid — any school kid — who wants to aspire and dream to realize their full dreams, they can do it."

Humphrey takes over in January. David Mosena, who has been president of the Museum of Science and Industry for 23 years, is retiring.

Humphrey is now president of the Arizona Science Center.

She says her favorite part of the Museum of Science and Industry is its focus on sustainability — and, of course, the institution's U-505 submarine.
