A new art exhibition at Navy Pier highlights over 55 pieces of art by some of the best Black artists across the globe. The "PERSPECTIVE" exhibit features pieces from Paul Branton, George Crump, Susan Clinard, Woodrow Nash, Candace Hunter, and many more.
"Navy Pier shares the best of Chicago with the world, even as it brings the world home to Chicago," said Marilynn Gardner, Navy Pier President and CEO.
Gardner said the new art exhibit helps to ensure that Chicagoans of all neighborhoods see themselves reflected in Navy Pier, through the art and the stories her team shares.
The exhibition of fine contemporary Black art celebrates the 20th anniversary of Diasporal Rhythms. Diasporal Rhythms is the nation's seminal Black art collective, dedicated to expanding the appreciation for contemporary Black art created by artists and makers of the African Diaspora. "PERSPECTIVE" showcases works from the legendary collections of Diasporal Rhythm's members.

"Diasporal Rhythms is more than a group of art collectors, they are caretakers and protectors of the Black image and the Black image makers," said Raymond A. Thomas.
Thomas, an international award-winning artist, filmmaker, and creative, is the curator of the "PERSPECTIVE" exhibition .
The exhibit is free to the public and runs from Oct. 6, 2023, through Jan. 31, 2024 at Navy Pier.
