
KANE COUNTY, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Kane County Health Department is opening up appointments for the new bivalent COVID-19 boosters.
Shots will be administered at the Kane Vax Hub in Batavia starting Saturday, September 17.
The booster targets two versions of the coronavirus: the original strain, and the Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5, which are causing most new infections.
Both Moderna and Pfizer’s version of the bivalent vaccine will be offered for those ages 12 and up.
Appointments can be made online at KaneVax.org or by calling the Kane Vax line at 855-4-KANEVAX.
The Kane Vax Hub is located at 501 N. Randall Road in Batavia, Illinois.
