(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The number of tornadoes in the Chicago area from last week’s record-setting storms continues to grow.

Following the July 15 weather event, the National Weather Service has confirmed three more tornadoes.

EF-0 tornadoes moved through O'Hare and Country Club Hills. A third tornado was confirmed in Maple Park.

That brings the total number of tornadoes that hit the Chicago Area last Monday up to at least 27.

It was already a new record for a single day, surpassing the mark set in 2023 and 2014.

Storms that hit the region the day before, Sunday, July 14, also produced six tornadoes, meaning at least 33 twisters moved through the area over two days.
