(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police in west suburban Oak Park continue searching for suspects in the shooting death of a teenager during a robbery at a gas station early Wednesday.
Two men came up behind 18-year-old Jailyn Logan-Bledsoe at the gas station at 100 Chicago Avenue around 2 a.m. The suspects shot her, stole belongings and drove away in her vehicle, authorities said.
Interim Police Chief Shatonya Johnson said detectives are getting help from other police departments. She is urging anyone with information to contact police.
A spokesperson for Oak Park and River Forest High School, where Logan-Bledsoe was a student, says a grief counseling team is available for students and staff.
