One dead, 2 injured following shooting outside bar in Garfield Ridge

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A shooting outside a bar Friday night in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood left one man dead and two others wounded.

It happened outside the bar at Archer and Nordica avenues at about 8 p.m.

A security guard, a concealed carry license holder, according to police, got into an argument with two men. One of the men was armed. Things escalated and shots were fired.

One of the men, 27-years old, was shot to death by the security guard. He was hit several times and died at a nearby hospital.

The second man, 31-years-old, was shot in the leg. He was in fair condition.

And the security guard, who’s 28, was shot in the torso. He was taken to Loyola and was initially in critical condition.
