48-year-old Amani Ibrahim of Palos Hills pleaded guilty this year to a federal drug conspiracy charge.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says from 2022 to 2025, Ibrahim used information stolen from physicians to write thousands of fraudulent prescriptions for opioids and other controlled substances.
Ibrahim and other people then illegally sold the drugs in the Chicago area.
Ibrahim financially benefited from the scheme, resulting in the forfeiture of $200,800 in illicit proceeds that was seized from her residence.
This month, a judge sentenced Ibrahim to five years in federal prison.
