(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A CTA worker had a close call with an angry passenger on the Blue Line early Monday.

Chicago police responded to a shooting at the Division Station of the Blue Line shortly after 1 a.m. near Ashland, Division and Milwaukee. There, a 32-year-old passenger got into an argument with a CTA employee on the train as it started pulling away from the platform, police say.

The passenger allegedly fired multiple shots but did not hit anyone. Officers arrested him and recovered a handgun, police said.

The CTA worker -- and the suspect -- were taken to different hospitals for observation.
