FOREST PARK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- This weekend is "last call" for a popular bar in the western suburbs.
Ed Formanski, a bartender at Doc Ryan's said it's closing down after 70 years.
"All good things must come to an end I guess, but it's been a good long run."
Tina Fajordo was among those who gathered for one last drink at Doc's located on the 7400 block of West Madison in Forest Park.
"It's heart-breaking," she said about the bar's closing. "I've been a regular here since I was 21, so it's something I hate to see go."
Ted Hosty is a former manager at "Doc's and was having his final beer as well.
"Can't even count how many people met here, got engaged, got married, raised children and now their children are hanging around here," he said. "There's so many happy memories for so many people around here."
The sight of Doc Ryan's is now expected to become a cannabis dispensary.
