CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Hey everyone, meet Ariel!
Ariel is a 2-year-old, female Terrier, American Pit Bull mix. She weighs 62 pounds.

PAWS Chicago said while they don’t know much about Ariel’s start in life, they do know she’s a sweet girl! The shelter describes 2-year-old Ariel as a mellow 62 pound, Pittie mix. And said napping is her No. 1 pastime and she is often found snoozing on her bed, couch, or a warm sunny spot on the floor.
Take the ComPETibility quiz here.
PAWS Chicago said Ariel thrives off cuddles, belly rubs, and receiving pets. A fast learner, she is very responsive to rewards and is already working on her training. She can be shy meeting new people, but warms up with time.
Are you Ariel’s new family? You might be if you live in a quiet home and neighborhood, with kids ages 12 or older, and are willing to take things slow while Ariel gets to know you. If you have another large, calm, confident dog, Ariel might like a friend to show her the ropes!
Ariel is an "underdog," who with extra help can blossom into a wonderdog! Ariel won't fit in every home, so consider your ComPETibilty score carefully before falling in love.
Do you have a home that fits Ariel's needs, but are on the fence about adopting? Consider fostering them for a few weeks first! Fostering with the intent to adopt is a great way to see how Ariel fits in before making things official. While fostering, you’ll have full support from PAWS for medical, behavioral, and food needs. To get started, apply to foster and reach out to acfoster@pawschicago.org.

If you’re interested in adopting this pet, there are few steps you must complete before scheduling an appointment at PAWS Chicago's Lincoln Park Adoption Center:
1. Please start by taking PAWS Chicago's ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. Finally, complete the PAWS Chicago Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, the Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and, if they have next steps, reach out within a few days.
Please note that while PAWS can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form.
