Finch is a 4-year-old American Blue Heeler mix. He weighs 63.5 pounds.
PAWS Chicago said Finch is an affectionate 4-year-old Blue Heeler mix who is playful, makes a great running buddy, and whose smile lights up a room. He enjoys going for walks, chomping on chew toys, and chasing tennis balls. He flashes giant smiles, his tail wags in anticipation for a walk or a scratch, and he can catch snowflakes on his tongue. It’s hard to believe, but on Jan. 9, Finch will have been waiting for a home for two whole years. Finch has been overlooked time and time again, because he is seeking a special home environment where he will thrive.
PAWS Chicago said he's a very good boy who loves taking on training and pleasing everyone around him. He is a volunteer and staff favorite, but he doesn’t let that go to his head.
This sweet dog is so deserving of a home to call his own. Can you help us find one before he hits that bittersweet 2-year milestone? If your home is pet-free, you have older children (or no children), and you have someone who's home regularly for some company and belly rubs, your home might be perfect for Finch.
Note: Finch is also in need of a foster while he waits for his forever home.

1. Please start by taking PAWS Chicago's ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. Finally, complete the PAWS Chicago Pet Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, the Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and, if they have next steps, reach out within a few days.
Please note that while PAWS can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form.
North Shore New Friend Adoption Event
Join PAWS Chicago for the North Shore New Friend Adoption Event this Saturday, Dec. 18 from noon to 3 p.m.! Located at the PAWS Chicago Glenn L. Felner North Shore Adoption Center, at 1616 Deerfield Road in Highland Park, this event is an opportunity to meet adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens waiting to find their home!
