Katara is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She weighs 66.8 pounds.
PAWS Chicago said Katara, a 5-year-old, 66 pound, American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is an introvert and embraces the chill life. She’s aloof and slightly nervous with new people, uninterested in most other dogs and a total homebody. But she’s devoted to her person, and wants to hang at your feet while you work from home, or greet you at the end of the day and decompress next to you — or even in your lap.

She loves to lay on the couch next to you, bone within reach, and chill. You might be Katara’s loving home if you have a quiet household and are looking for an easy-going buddy. Katara doesn’t need a yard, and her future home could be an apartment, condo, or walk-up, as well as a single-family home.

1. Please start by taking PAWS Chicago's ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. Finally, complete PAWS Chicago's Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, the Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and, if they have next steps, reach out within a few days.
Please note that while PAWS can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home. If you don’t meet the perfect pet during your first visit to the Adoption Center, please feel free to schedule another appointment.
Big Love Adoption Event
Celebrate the season of love and join PAWS Chicago for the Big Love Adoption Event now through Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the Lincoln Park Adoption Center.
