(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A woman was killed after being hit by 3 vehicles near a north suburb’s downtown area. All of the drivers who left the scene have now been located by police.
Waukegan resident Kassandra Fajardo-Rodriguez, 30, died this past week from severe injuries that Waukegan Police say came from being struck by three vehicles. All three drivers kept on going after she was hit by them.
All three drivers have been located and the case will now be screened by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine if any criminal charges will be brought forward.
Police say that witnesses told them Fajardo-Rodriguez had walked into the roadway in the area of Grand Avenue and New York Street and lied down in traffic before she was hit late Tuesday night.
After she was hit, Fajardo-Rodriguez had been taken to a nearby hospital where she would later die from her severe injuries.
