Police have arrested a homeless man for the attack on a young woman in Arlington Heights in June.
36-year-old Jeff G. Gaspard has been charged with felony aggravated battery for allegedly choking the 18-year-old as she walked home near Lake Arlington the night of June 7.
He’s accused of knocking the teen down and choking her until she fought him off.
Arlington Heights police credit a Good Samaritan who called 911, businesses and people who reviewed surveillance videos and a regional crime lab for analyzing evidence.
