(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Gov. JB Pritzker will now consider a bill placing more regulation on gun dealers.
Senate President Don Harmon (D-Oak Park), the sponsor, said it should be against the law to market firearms to children. “If you think it is far-fetched, I’m looking at an ad from ‘Wee 1 Tactical,’ with cartoon characters, marketing the JR-15, a rifle that looks like an AR-15, urging them to ‘get ‘em one like yours."
“We’re sending a lot of top employers in this state,” said State Sen. Neil Anderson (R-Andalusia), naming Springfield Armory and Rock River Armory, “to be forced out of this state and, in turn, lose a lot of good-paying jobs.”
The bill, said Harmon, falls under the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act and also fills an exemption to federal law for states which specifically regulate firearms dealers.
HB 210 awaits the governor’s action.
