HILLSIDE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A lockdown has been lifted at west suburban Proviso West High School and Hillside Elementary School after an altercation between two students in a stairwell next to the parking lot.

A spokesman for Hillside said one student was stabbed and another is currently at large. He said the students had a "history of bad blood" between them.

Hillside spokesman Gary Mack told WBBM the student was stabbed in the arm and his injuries are not life-threatening.

Earlier in the day, Proviso West High School is on soft lockdown, which meant nobody was allowed in or out.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned to WBBM Newsradio for an update.
