(WBBM NEWSRADIO) --Schaumburg Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi says the seizure of top secret White House documents from former President Donald Trump’s Florida Home raises some troubling questions.
"Those classified documents should never have been there," he said.
"As a member of the Intelligence Committee, I deal with these types of documents on an almost daily basis, but I can only review them in secure facilities guarded by armed police officers beneath the United States Capitol."
8th District Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi dismissed Republican complaints that the raid to seize classified Documents from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was simply a political vendetta.
The Congressman is also troubled by the threats against federal agents that have been made by Trump supporters in the wake of the Raid and accusations like “gestapo tactics.”
And Krishnamoorthi calls "ludicrous" Mr. Trump’s claim that he declassified the documents.
"The agencies at issue that are affected by those documents would have to run through a certain process to make sure that all the stakeholders who would be affected by any such declassification would be notified-would have their say."
Krishnamoorthi is up for re-election. His Republican Challenger is Chris Dargis and he’s will be featured on our At Issue program, Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.
