CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A woman was hospitalized Sunday morning after a road rage shooting on the city's West Side, Chicago police said.
Police said it happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. as a 42-year-old woman was driving along South Kostner Avenue near 14th Street in North Lawndale.
The woman got into an argument with the driver of another vehicle in traffic, and officials said it escalated when the other driver started shooting and struck the woman in her back.
The male driver of the other vehicle fled in an unknown direction, police said.
An acquaintance of the victim drove her to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was reported as stable.
No other injuries were reported. Area Four detectives are investigating.
