(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A 22-year-old Chicago man has been charged in connection with a robbery earlier this week in which a gun was fired at a CTA L station in the South Loop.

Lamont Johnson is charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery, Chicago police announced Friday.

He allegedly is the suspect who robbed and battered a 21-year-old man in the 1100 block of South State Street. During a reported struggle, the robber's gun went off multiple times, officials said, though no injuries were reported.

Johnson is expected in bond court Saturday.
