ARLINGTON HEIGHTS (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A week after leaving Rolling Meadows High School, former Bears kicker Robbie Gould has a new high school football coaching gig.

Gould has been named the new head football coach at northwest suburban Saint Viator High School, the private Catholic school announced Tuesday.

“I am both honored and excited to be joining Saint Viator High School, an institution with a storied tradition of excellence both on and off the field,” Gould said in a statement. “Creating a family atmosphere within our football program is of utmost importance to me. I believe in players supporting one another and striving for collective success. Our journey to greatness will begin together!”

This is Gould’s second Illinois high school football coaching job in two years.

After retiring from the NFL last year, the Bears all-time leading scorer was hired as head coach at Rolling Meadows. In his lone season leading the squad, the Mustangs reached the IHSA Class 7A Playoffs and finished with a 5-5 record. Those five wins were a three win improvement from the year before.

Last week, Gould resigned from his position at Rolling Meadows. District officials said the parting of ways was a mutual decision.

Gould, who recently turned 42, finished his career with the San Francisco 49ers after spending his first 11 seasons kicking for the Bears. He was a member of the 2006 Bears, the franchise’s last squad to compete in the Super Bowl.
