TINLEY PARK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Tinley Park officials said an all-night search has ended for suspects wanted in connection with a Northwest Indiana double-murder and a shooting in south suburban Posen. Multiple resources were deployed late Thursday to try and track them down.
Posen police and Illinois State Police had chased the suspects into Tinley Park Thursday night, where a Tinley Park officer saw the suspects’ car and pursued it north on Ridgeland Avenue, until it crashed into railroad tracks at the T-intersection at Oak Forest Avenue, according to Tinley Park Village Manager Pat Carr.
One suspect was captured, but the other two ran away.
Extra officers were brought into the area, as well as Cook County Sheriff’s bloodhounds.
"We had approximately 70 officers from multiple agencies, including state police, Cook County, and surrounding suburbs," Carr said.
Carr believes the suspects are no longer in Tinley Park, but police are warning Tinley Park residents to be cautious and report any suspicious activity. Residents are also being asked to check their security cameras for any helpful video.
"We do have additional units just in the area patrolling, but the active search has been concluded," Carr said.
Tinley Park police said the suspects are wanted for a double-killing in Hammond and a shooting in Posen. The captured suspect is in the hands of Posen police, while two others remain at large.
