CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Fans of Foxtrot may notice some familiar local vendors when the store makes its comeback in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood this September.
Metric Coffee, All Together Now, and Do-Rite Donuts are just a few of 45 former vendors that have agreed to return to Foxtrot, but it appears that their decision came with some hesitancy.
Eater Chicago reports that many brands shared trust issues after Foxtrot put hundreds of workers out of jobs when it abruptly closed dozens of locations nationwide in April. Returning reportedly took some convincing from Foxtrot co-founder Mike LaVitola.
Other brands refused to return and instead chose to focus on other retail opportunities.
Foxtrot's Gold Coast location is set to open some time next month. Comebacks in Wicker Park and Willis Tower have also been teased.
