Tammy Anderson has worked for Chicago Public Schools as a crossing guard since 2016.
Dubbed "The Happy Guard,” Anderson’s best known for her dance moves, but Anderson is facing eviction from her Hyde Park apartment as she owes roughly $2,400 in back rent.
Anderson created a GoFundMe campaign with a goal to raise $5,000, and that’s when her South Side community showed up.
As of this writing, the campaign has raised more than $18,000 in as little as four days. Anderson wrote that this money will give her and her daughter new beginnings and less worries.
