(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A sports producer who works at the United Center said he was the victim of a carjacking Tuesday in a nearby parking lot and hopes his story will keep other people safe.
Joe Tidei of Stadium Productions was parked in the lot outside the Advocate Center, where the Bulls practice, when the incident happened, around noon.
He said a black SUV pulled up and two gunmen emerged.
“One of them pointed a gun at me and told me to get down, and from there, in about 15 to 20 seconds, they had stolen my car. They took my keys, took my wallet.
“They actually tossed my phone to the side on the ground, and then they ran over my phone with my car.”
Tidei said he wasn’t physically harmed — he thinks because he did not resist. He suggests other people who find themselves in that situation do the same.
