CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Details have emerged about the arrest of a man linked to the fatal stabbing of a woman on Chicago's South Side and the wounding of two boys, one of whom was the subject of an Amber Alert.

The investigation took police from the city limits all the way to Northwest Indiana.

This all started late Thursday night when, Chicago Police said, 33-year-old Teone Jones was fatally stabbed at her home near 71st and Eberhardt.

Investigators also said two boys, ages 11 and 8, were stabbed, and the younger boy was abducted. That's what triggered the Amber Alert just before 2 a.m.

The 11-year-old victim was found near 66th and Wentworth when he banged on Cynthia Keel's door looking for help.

“I saw blood all over his face, all over his hands. First of all, when I opened my door, there were two bloody handprints on my window. That just shook me,” Keel told CBS News Chicago.

The 11-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and police later found the 8-year-old near 82nd and Damen.

Several hours later, police in northwest Indiana spotted the car identified in that Amber Alert and, after a chase, arrested a 39-year-old suspect.

WBBM is not identifying him because he has not yet been formally charged with a crime.

There’s been a number of reports that cite a connection to the victims and the suspects, but police have not confirmed how all involved are related.
