(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Three stray goats named Billy, Sunshine and Baby were “missed dearly,” according to Chicago Animal Care and Control.

Their owner had been driving around looking for them after they escaped on Tuesday, unaware that they had been picked up by an officer with Chicago Animal Care and Control.

Someone — who was aware of the media attention that followed animal control’s social media post about the goats — figured out who they belonged to and reached out to the person.

The owner has identified how they escaped and has taken measure to keep them home and safe going forward, animal control officials said.

Animal Care and Control said all the attention led to a “huge interest in people wanting to adopt or foster” the goats.

“While CACC does not adopt out goats, we do have dogs, cats and other small animals that are looking for forever homes,” the department said.

Chicago Animal Care and Control noted on its updated social media post that it was hosting an adoption event called “Find Your Lucky Charm,” with all adoption fees waived, on Saturday.
