(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 52-year-old man is in critical condition he was crushed by an SUV in unincorporated Grayslake.
Lake County sheriff's police say the man was working underneath a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe Tuesday afternoon when the vehicle fell on him. He is believed to have raised the SUV’s front “by driving onto a decorative rock, ordinarily used in retaining walls,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
But the vehicle came off the rocks and fell onto the man, officials said. A neighbor reportedly heard a loud crash and found the man unresponsive.
Police say they responded around 2 p.m. to North Oak Street and began CPR on the man.
He was transported to a medical center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries.
The man's name as not yet been released.
