T.J.Maxx will anchor a renovated retail development on the Near North Side later this year.

The off-price retailer will add to an already bustling corridor including retailers like Lululemon, Crate & Barrel and Sephora.

T.J. Maxx  signed a 10-year lease for the 26,000 square feet of space near the intersection of North and Sheffield Avenues. It's set to open in the third quarter of the year.

That's according to Chicago-based Farpoint Development, who's built commercial, residential, medical properties along Michigan Avenue, Bronzeville, Fulton Market and surrounding suburbs.

T.J. Maxx will anchor a 200,000-square-foot building including other retailers like Fitness Formula Clubs, Urban Oasis and a plastic surgery office.

The development is a joint venture which Farpoint and MCZ Development previously purchased at auction for $20 million, according to Crain’s Chicago Business reported at the time.
