Teen shot after car break-in on Chicago's South Side

According to the Chicago Police Department, a 17-year-old boy was shot by a Concealed Carry License holder after allegedly breaking into the man's car on the city's South Side.

A 17-year-old was shot after allegedly breaking into a man's car on the city's South Side early Monday morning.

Chicago police say it happened in the 9400 block of South Indiana at 3:42 a.m. That's when a 58-year-old man told police he heard his car alarm going off, went outside and found the driver's side window broken and two males in his car.

The man says one of the suspects pulled out a gun, and that's when he shot at them.  The 17-year-old was wounded in his right forearm and left knee.

The second suspect ran off and jumped into a gray minivan to get away.

The wounded teen was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition. Chicago Police the man who shot him has a valid FOID Card and Concealed Carry License.
