OAK LAWN (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two police departments in the southwest suburbs teamed up to track down two teenage burglary suspects.
Oak Lawn Police Division Chief Gerald Vetter said officers found a stolen car that was abandoned and left running behind BJ McMahon's bar and grill in the 5400 block of 95th Street.
Vetter said the officers then discovered someone had broken into the tavern and stolen cash.
Meanwhile, the officers learned police in neighboring Evergreen Park were investigating a recent tavern robbery there.
“The patrol officers for both Oak Lawn and Evergreen that were great with one another and were able to go over video surveillance at separate times here in Oak Lawn and in Evergreen and were able to come together with the information that helped to identify the subjects,” Vetter said.
Vetter said two teenagers were spotted running through the yards of homes near BJ McMahon's.
He said officers from both departments tracked down 19-year-old Jarlen Loggins and a 15-year-old boy, both from Chicago.
Vetter said the teens both admitted to taking part in the burglaries.
