Ten wounded in 2 North Lawndale shootings, police say

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) —Chicago police say 10 people were wounded Wednesday in two shootings that happened within blocks and minutes of each other in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the city’s West Side.

During a news conference, Area Four Deputy Chief Ernest Cato said five people were shot shortly after 6 p.m. near 13th and Christiana.

About five minutes later and three blocks away, five other people were shot near Douglas and Ridgeway.

Three teenagers were among the victims. The conditions of any of the victims aren't known.

The shootings are believed to be separate incidents.

No other details were available as the investigation continued.
