(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- It's Valentine’s Day, and that means many florists and candy makers are working overtime. Apparently so are some private investigators.
“Valentine’s Day is a very common day where we are doing surveillance, because it is a target day for romantic events,” says Perry Myers, president of MSI Detective Services and U-Spy Enterprises in Bucktown.
He said his company is often contacted because a spouse or significant other is suspicious, especially if plans fall through on Valentine’s Day.
There can be legitimate reasons for that, Myers said. But sometimes that reason is another love interest, which was the case with a husband they were watching last year.
“We conducted surveillance outside of his office saw him leaving with one of his co-workers -- a female -- and they went to a restaurant and had a nice romantic dinner,” he recalls.
Myers’ advice?
“Go on your instincts. If there is any reason to doubt, then you probably should take some steps to either check it out or have a good talk with your significant other.”
