THORNTON TOWNSHIP (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Thornton Township Board of Trustees Thursday night fired two allies of the Township Supervisor Tiffany Henyard, including her boyfriend.
Trustee Stephanie Wiedeman moved to fire Henyard’s boyfriend Kamal Woods, who was hired by Henyard to run the township’s youth program. This came after he was involved in a brawl during a meeting last week.
Woods got into it with an activist who had some less than kind words for Henyard.
Another ally of the supervisor, William Moore, was also fired.
“Obviously, what happened last week, it’s just something we felt that was kind of the best, at least, temporary solution,” Trustee Chris Gonzalez told CBS News Chicago.
Henyard did not take part in the meeting. She was prevented from being on the ballot to keep her job that pays more than $200,000.
She’s also being challenged for re-election as the Mayor of Dolton.
