CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Illinois State Police said it's investigating three shootings that were reported Sunday night on the Dan Ryan Expressway within a three-hour period.

State police said a trooper responded to a hospital where a motorist claimed to have been shot while driving along the inbound Dan Ryan at 79th Street at 7 p.m. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A little over 30 minutes after that shooting, another one was reported on the outbound Dan Ryan in the express lanes at 47th Street.

There, a motorist reported that he thought he'd been shot at, but police found no evidence he—or his vehicle—had been hit.

The last shooting happened around 10 p.m. on the Dan Ryan's outbound Chinatown feeder ramp. The driver was not injured.

State police did not release any information about a possible suspect or suspects.
