Illinois State Police have issued a warning to motorists after a convoy through the area Saturday involved around 1,000 vehicles in support of Ukraine.
A warning from ISP has been issued after a nearly three-mile-long convoy in support of Ukraine world from East Dundee to finish at Buckingham Fountain, where the vehicles, which included a number of trailer-less semi trucks, were parked, fully lining the areas surrounding Grant Park and Millennium Park.
ISP officials said that they have become aware of a similar event planned for Saturday, March 5, and see that convoys can cause traffic delays and potential crashes. ISP is urging those participating in any planned convoy to abide by traffic laws, adding that participating motorists may be held liable for crashes that result from their actions.
