CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A popular book about video gaming and relationships is getting a big stamp of approval from the City of Chicago.

Inside the Harold Washington Library's Winter Garden Wednesday, there was dancing, a standing ovation for library workers and, of course, the unveiling of the latest One Book, One Chicago selection. "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow"  by Gabrielle Zevin was chosen.

"It remains one of the most popular books at CPL," said Chicago Public Library Commissioner Chris Brown.  "It's a story that celebrates creativity, friendship, relationships and connections through the character's passion for gaming."

Mayor Johnson said the city will offer all types of programming to celebrate the 2022 book, including game writing workshops, reading parties and a conversation with author Gabrielle Zevin.

"I'm all about exploring and learning through reading and literacy, while reinforcing Chicago's reputation as a vibrant and literacy rich city," the mayor said.
