(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Several Illinois Emergency Management Agency workers are out of a job, and there are some questions as to why.
Those workers were Chief of Operations Marc Sullivan, Deputy Director Scott Swinford, and Legislative Liaison Jennifer March. All three were involved in responding to disasters such as tornadoes, flooding and the COVID-19 pandemic, dating back to as early as 2019.
IEMA officials said the three “resigned due to unique circumstances and personal reasons.”
Records obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times revealed Sullivan was forced out in late July, “in lieu of termination for misconduct.”
Swinford resigned the same day, and, according to the paper, used an identical letter to Sullivan’s to step away.
The documents show March resigned “in lieu of termination for poor performance.” Both she and Sullivan are apparently barred from ever working for the agency again.
