(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The trial begins Tuesday in the ComEd bribery scandal and it’s expected to last two months.
Jury selection is scheduled for four defendants in the ComEd bribery scandal. The four are alleged to have provided jobs and contracts for people close to former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan in exchange for legislation that was favorable to ComEd.
The defendants include former ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore, former ComEd Vice-President and lobbyist John Hooker, former consultant and City Club of Chicago president Jay Doherty and Michael McClain, a former lobbyist and close confidante of Mike Madigan.
ComEd admitted in 2020 it engaged in bribery and has paid a $200 million dollar fine.
