CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There were two fires that happened within an hour of each other last night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood and police believe at least one of them was deliberately set.

Two people were left without a place to live after a fire in an apartment on 45th and Wood. Police said an accelerant was believed to have started the fire just before 9 p.m. It's being investigated as arson. A firefighter was injured and taken to a hospital in good condition. No one has been arrested.

Meanwhile, about three blocks away and less than an hour later on 43rd and Honore, there was an extra alarm fire involving three homes and a car. Police said 15 people were forced from their homes. No one was injured and there is no word on the cause of that fire.
