The group Veterans For Peace has put up a billboard on Route 41 near Naval Station Great Lakes, in the northern suburbs, which says "Active Duty and National Guard: You Have a Duty To Refuse Illegal Orders"

Rory Fanning, a combat veteran with the group, told WBBM they put up the billboard because of ICE activity, and other recent developments saying, "This Administration (The Trump Administration) seems hell-bent on issuing illegal orders, double-tap strikes in the ocean on fishermen, kidnapping presidents of sovereign countries, and deploying the National Guard to execute his (President Trump's) immigration policy."

Veterans For Peace says the reception to the billboard has been positive, and they are putting up similar billboards in several locations across the country.
