There is anguish this Mother's Day for a mother in West Pullman whose son was killed outside of her home Saturday afternoon.

Chicago police say two men were killed and another was wounded when someone got out of a car near 116th and Lowe at 2:45 a.m. and started shooting. Brandon Slater, 26, died at the scene. A 27-year-old man with him was hospitalized in good condition and 64-year-old Larry Purnell, standing nearby, died after being shot in the chest.

Diane Archer tells CBS 2 she had just been talking with Brandon about their Mother's Day plans.

"And I am sick, and I am tired of seeing this on the news every day, all day. And nobody is doing nothing," Archer said.

Adding to her anguish is the shooting death of her other son, 23-year-old Sheridan Freeman, back in December a few blocks away.

Slater was a father to a six-year-old boy and an aspiring rapper.
