CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — White Sox fans could soon have a new spot at the park to wet their whistles.

The team got a permit from the City of Chicago for construction of what they referred to as a "new outdoor bar with premium seating skybox."

According to the permit, the team is planning alterations to two existing 500-level locations at Guaranteed Rate Field to accommodate the new bar.

Construction of the bar will include the demolition of 8 rows of seats, as well as the rearranging of entry and exit stairs, other necessary modifications and minor electrical and plumbing work.

The estimated price tag for the project:  $284,500.

The White Sox have not returned WBBM’s request for comment.
