GLENVIEW, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- After searching for two months, police have made an arrest in a fatal hit and run in Glenview.
Ewelina Pikulska was arrested in Okaloosa County, Florida, the Glenview Police Department said after they learned the 40-year-old Des Plaines woman was there and the local sheriff's office took her into custody.
Pikulska is wanted for leaving the scene of a fatal accident on Aug. 21 shortly after 3 a.m. By the time police arrived, there was no car at the scene near Sanders Road and South Parkway Drive; just 59-year-old Trinidad Salgado and his bicycle.
The Wheeling father of four was pronounced at the hospital.
While there was no car on the scene of the crash, investigators determined the vehicle was a grey or Silver 2017-2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport.
Police are not releasing any more details about the arrest until Pikulska is extradited and charged in Illinois.
