CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A crash this morning on a ramp on the Kennedy expressway sent one person to a hospital and prompted the closure of the outbound lanes for about 90 minutes.

A garbage truck was exiting the outbound lanes at Armitage at about 5:45 a.m.

At the same time, the driver of an SUV was on the ramp, going the wrong way, traveling south on the northbound ramp. They collided head-on.

The SUV was heavily damaged.  The garbage truck was leaking fuel.

The SUV driver was reported to be talking at the scene.  Injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation.
