A Florida man is accused of using a vehicle to murder his own brother and is now on the loose, according to authorities.
Tyree Gland, 34, allegedly struck his 35-year-old brother Taiwan James Gland twice with his automobile in a St. Petersburg intersection, then left him to die in the road, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Police are characterizing the vehicular assault as “intentional.”
While a motive is not yet clear, authorities are investigating whether it could be tied to the death of Taiwan Gland’s son, Taiwan Gland Jr., who died February 22.
The younger Gland’s death was a result of “some kind of altercation between two groups,” the police spokesman said.
Tyree Gland is facing a first-degree murder charge. St. Petersburg police have already arrested Sebastian Williams, 32, who was a passenger in the car. Williams has been charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
