Joe Pinion, a businessman who hosts "The Saturday Agenda" on the right-leaning news network Newsmax, highlighted Martin Luther King Jr. on his namesake federal holiday.

"The promise of Dr. King's dream is vanishing! Too many politicians are focused on Left vs. Right, instead of Right vs. Wrong. I am running for U.S. Senate to unseat Chuck Schumer!" the Yonkers native added in his tweet alongside his announcement video.

Pinion, who ran unsuccessfully for the New York State Assembly in Yonkers in 2018, quoted the civil rights icon in the video.

"The time has come for us to rediscover what Dr. King called the fierce urgency of now," he added. "Our promise on this campaign is to declare that poverty has reached a state of emergency ... our fight is not left versus right, it's right versus wrong."

Ahead of his official campaign launch, New York Republican Party Chairman Nick Langworthy told The New York Post — who reported his election plans — that the state GOP is excited about his candidacy.

"We are very excited about what Joe brings to this race and his ability to expand our party," he said. "He is a young dynamo with a national network, and as a self-made man."

1010 WINS reached out to Schumer's office for comment.
